Conference FAM to Showcase South Bend Treasures

Are you a faith-based travel planner reader of Going On Faith? Don’t make your travel plans to South Bend for the Going On Faith Conference without thinking about arriving a couple of days early for a great preconference FAM.

“We’re hosting a select group of 15 to 20 guests at Waterford Estates Lodge, August 2-4, for an exciting preconference FAM of the South Bend Mishawaka area,” said Carolyne Wallace, director of sales for Visit South Bend Mishawaka. “This will be an intimate look at the key group attractions in the area. Anyone interested in bringing groups to South Bend should come in a couple of days early and join us.”

The familiarization trip costs only $200, and organizations may bring one or two guests for that price.

“We’ll pick up arrivals at the airport and take care of everything from there,” said Wallace. “And once the FAM is over, we’ll take all participants right over to register for the Going On Faith Conference taking place August 4-6.”

The South Bend Mishawaka area is home to more than a dozen museums, wonderful restaurants, more than 300 places of worship and, of course, the University of Notre Dame.

As an attendee, you will have the chance to visit these signature sites in the area:

• Studebaker National Museum

• History Museum and Oliver Mansion

• St. Paul’s United Methodist Church

• Harvest Show, the internationally syndicated faith-based program produced by LeSea Broadcasting

• Notre Dame campus, including its famed Basilica of the Sacred Heart

“Carolyne and her team have done as good a job of creating a prefamiliarization opportunity for our delegates as anyone we’ve ever worked with at the Going On Faith Conference,” said conference vice president Teresa Burton. “This is true door-to-door service from the time you arrive until the time you are brought to the conference.

“This site inspection includes two nights’ lodging at the Waterford Estates Lodge; all tickets, fee and tips; and two breakfasts, two lunches, and two dinners,” said Burton. “Our travel planners cannot go wrong by joining Carolyne and her crew for this wonderful trip just prior to the conference.”

More information on all these sites and others in the city is available in the South Bend feature article in your April/May issue of Going On Faith magazine or by reading the article online at www.goingonfaith.com. The digital edition of the magazine may be found at the bottom of the homepage.

Space is limited to prequalified Going On Faith delegates, and the deadline to sign up is July 15, so don’t delay. Contact Becky Turak, sales and services manager at
