Stoneware Art Factory renovation to improve visitor experience

LOUISVILLE, Kentucky — One of the oldest stoneware manufacturers in the United States, the Stoneware Art Factory, will make major renovations in 2014 aimed at improving the customer experience.

The renovation will create new modern displays; offer a line of Kentucky-made products like cocoa, cookies, olive oils, sorghum and soaps alongside the functional pottery; and develop the company’s new Everyday Stoneware product line of lighter pottery, shapes, artistic patterns and bolder colors.

The changes will streamline the production process, improve tour flow and expand retail space from approximately 2,100 square feet to 2,500 square feet. More noticeable improvements will include a new checkout counter, updated restroom facilities and the addition of a GE Experience Kitchen for product demonstrations.

Renovations will be completed in early March with a grand reopening and a “Meet the Makers” event on April 10.
