Adventures in Provo

Courtesy Utah Valley CVB

Set inside the Wasatch Mountain Range, the town of Provo is a perfect jumping-off point for groups looking to explore the Utah Valley area. Groups can stay in the downtown area, which features dining, shopping and beautiful views of the surrounding mountains, or venture from their downtown accommodations to experience some of these area attractions:

•Provo Canyon — Hiking trails that begin in downtown lead right into that canyon, where visitors often see moose, elk, deer and other wildlife. Area outfitters provide rental bikes or guided tours into the canyon.

•Sundance Resort — The famous Provo resort hosts portions of the Sundance Film Festival every year. The resort’s arts emphasis extends beyond movies, though; groups can take pottery, jewelry and photography classes during their visits.

•Thanksgiving Point — The new multiuse development features a variety of attractions, including a 55-acre botanical garden and a golf course. Thanksgiving Point is also home to Farm Country, a working farm where visitors learn about modern and historic agriculture.
