Israel courts evangelicals

Jerusalem
The Israel Ministry of Tourism has launched a new website targeted at the evangelical Christian market.
The new website, www.evangelicalisrael experience.com, includes general information about travel to Israel, as well as news items, information on places of interests and events, virtual tours, videos and itineraries for visits to important Christian holy sites throughout the country.
“The new evangelical Christian website will help inform a new wave of religious travelers about tourism to Israel,” said Haim Gutin, Israel’s commissioner of tourism for North America and South America. “And it comes during what is on course to be the best year ever for travel to Israel.”
More than 3 million tourists visited Israel in 2010, including some 600,000 Americans.
