SAN FRANCISCO — The city of San Francisco recognized singer Tony Bennett’s 90th birthday in August by dedicating an eight-foottall bronze statue of him atop Nob Hill on the lawn of the Fairmont San Francisco hotel, where he first publically performed his iconic “I Left My Heart in San Francisco.”

Bay Area sculptor Bruce Wolfe created the statue of Bennett using “old-fashion” wet gray/brown clay process. Wolfe has also created statues of George P. Shultz, Steve Silver, Harvey Milk and Margaret Thatcher.
