A Culinary Guide to Cabarrus County

Are you a foodie who likes to be sure you “taste” an area while you’re visiting it?  If so, here is a partial list of local eateries the Cabarrus County Convention and Visitors Bureau recommends for a “well seasoned” trip to the area.

• Afton Tavern

This is the local spot for cocktails on the patio or succulent ribs and crab cakes.

• Dave and Buster’s in Concord Mills

When you have had enough shopping, relax at one of the area’s busiest sports bars for a beer and a ballgame on a giant-screen television.

• Gianni’s Trattoria

Ready for a gourmet meal?  This Italian eatery is well known with locals for its Pappardelle Etruscana and roasted duck breast with black mission fig-onion marmalade and port reduction.

• Old Stone Vino

Enjoy dinner in a restored house in historic Kannapolis. The old stone dwelling offers ambiance befitting its highly regarded fare.

• Punchy’s Diner

Doo wop!  If casual 1950s fare sounds good, head on over to Punchy’s and enjoy some old-time rock ’n’ roll with your burger.

• R & R Barbecue

You wouldn’t be in North Carolina if you didn’t have some barbecue, so this is the local spot to try your eastern North Carolina vinegar-based pork barbecue.

Restaurant 46

Ready for healthy?  This local favorite was inspired by the diners from the North Carolina Research Campus nearby and features items from as far-flung places as Hawaii.
