Get your kicks at the Going On Faith Conference

JOPLIN, Mo. — Attendees at the Going On Faith Conference will get their kicks during a new evening entertainment event at the Route 66 Carousel Park in Joplin.

The Going on Faith Conference has traditionally featured an open dine-around night, giving attendees the chance to explore the host city and eat at the restaurant of their choice. For the 2010 edition, though, the Route 66 Carousel Park is treating the entire conference delegation to a family-style barbecue and a night of old-fashioned fun.

During the “Get Your Kicks” party, attendees will be free to explore the attractions at the Route 66 Carousel Park. Guests can ride the historic carousel, play a round on one of two 18-hole miniature golf courses or face off in unlimited go-kart track racing. Other attractions at the park include bumper boats, batting cages and various traditional midway rides.

More information on the park is available at www.route66carouselpark.com.

Speakers announced

In addition to the new entertainment event, Going On Faith Conference has announced its 2010 keynote speakers.

Travel industry veteran Cindi Brodhecker will make her second appearance at the Going On Faith Conference. Brodhecker is president of Faith Travel Development and Consulting, and recently launched The Priscilla Woman’s Tours, a tour company catering to the interests of Christian women. She will give a presentation about the wide variety of faith-based travel opportunities available to church groups.

Also speaking at the conference will be Brian Jewell, editor of the Going On Faith travel publication. Jewell will speak about ways that church travel planners can enhance their trips to become significant community-building and spiritual experiences for their members.
