Faith travel planners and travel industry representatives will gather in one of America’s iconic faith-based destinations September 4-6 when the 2013 Going On Faith Conference is held in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, a region renowned for its 300-year-old Amish culture.

“Things are shaping up very nicely for this prestigious conference, and we can’t wait to show these planners our city and area,” said Mara Sultan, senior sales manager for the PA Dutch Convention and Visitors Bureau in Lancaster. “We have a prefam compliments of the Hershey/Harrisburg Regional CVB for those who want to come in early, and we’re encouraging anyone who can stay a night after the conference to join us for First Friday in Lancaster — those are wonderful evenings to be here and enjoy all the activities downtown.”

If you are interested in taking the prefam to Hershey, you can register by contacting Allison Rohrbaugh by phone at 717-231-2980 or by email at Allison@hersheyharrisburg.org.

Sultan said attendees will have lots of opportunities to enjoy both the Amish culture and Lancaster’s thriving downtown restaurant scene while at the conference.

“The ice cream social during registration will be compliments of Turkey Hill Experience,” she said. “After an opening welcome at our Ware Center downtown, delegates will enjoy entertainment provided by the American Music Theatre. That show is sponsored by the theater, Amish Experience and Strasburg Railroad.
