Pilgrimage to two pope canonizations

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Faith-based groups can witness Pope Francis canonize two popes into saints on a pilgrimage with Regina Tours. The Catholic-focused tour operator will bring groups to St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome on April 25 to experience the canonization of Pope John Paul II and Pope John XXIII.

Interested group leaders can choose from two itineraries, including the “Seven Day Pilgrimage to Rome” from April 25 through May 1, 2014. To extend the tour, groups can choose the “Nine Day Pilgrimage to Rome and Fatima” from April 25 through May 3, 2014.

While in Rome, participants will explore some of the Eternal City’s most beloved basilica’s including St. Mary Major, St. John Lateran and St. Paul Outside the Walls. Guests will also discover the city’s ancient sites, such as Capitoline Hill, the Colosseum, the Arch of Constantine and the Roman Forum.

Regina Tours will also provide guided tours of the Sistine Chapel, St. Peter’s Basilica and Vatican Museums.

Those pilgrims wishing to extend their trip two days to visit Fatima will join in the moving Candlelight Rosary Procession beginning in the Chapel of Apparitions. Groups will also walk through the Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima and other nearby sites.
