World Choir Games tickets now available

CINCINNATI – The world’s largest international choral competition is coming to the United States for the first time. Travelers can now purchase tickets to the 2012 World Choir Games, which will be hosted in Cincinnati’s U.S. Bank Arena.

More than 360 choirs from nearly 50 countries, including 25 U.S. states, will compete in the July 4-14 event. Final performance and competition schedules will be available within the next few weeks at www.2012worldchoirgames.com.

Attendees will listen to a range of musical styles praising God, such as jazz, show choir, gospel and folklore music. Six days of performances will start with the Opening Ceremony on July 4th by the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra and May Festival Chorus and end on July 14 with the Closing Ceremony.

Other tickets available for purchase include the Champions Concert, the Awards Ceremony and the Celebration Concerts, which are themed shows from some of the most celebrated choirs in the world. The choral event takes place every two years and is expected to draw 20,000 participants and tens of thousands of visitors from more than 70 countries. Cincinnati USA estimates the event will be the organization’s largest international arts event ever with an economic impact of $73.5 million.

Interkultur, a German-based organization, produces the international choral event. For more information about the event, visit www.2012worldchoirgames.com. Groups of 30 or more can purchase group tickets by contacting Sara Blevins, 513-421-1302 or sblevins@usbankarena.com.
