VENTURA, California — An exhibition of George Stuart Historical Figures at the Museum of Ventura County depicts major moments in Abraham Lincoln’s life and presidency.
The exhibition, designed to coincide with the 150-year anniversary of Lincoln’s assassination, displays 10 of Stuart’s three-dimensional sculptures amid historic photographs and documents. The exhibit illustrates how Lincoln’s appearance changed from clean-shaven to bearded, from vigorous to careworn and exhausted.
The exhibition runs through October 11.
Stuart has created more than 400 one-quarter life-size figures of many historical periods over five decades.
